Lalique
French Crystal from a Jeweler Turned Glassmaker
René Lalique opened his workshop in Paris in 1888 as a jeweler, and by the 1920s he had moved to glass: in 1921 he built a factory at Wingen-sur-Moder in Alsace, which remains the company’s only production site. His son Marc shifted the house from pressed glass to lead crystal after 1945. The signature look is satin-frosted crystal set against polished clear surfaces, and every piece is still made at that Alsace factory.
